In addition to the Amiwa team, composed of Frenchmen and Chinese, both Han and Bai, you will have the opportunity to trek with our local partners of diverse nationalities. None of them works exclusively as a guide and most manage their own businesses as innkeepers, artisans or mountain farmers, but they all love to hit the trails.

Most of the treks we organise are led by one or two Amiwa members and one or two local guides in an exchange where everyone learns from one another and has the chance to make the most of his or her special skills: the ever essential lighting a wood fire in a downpour  or the equally critical mastering of the numerous regional dialects needed to communicate with local inhabitants.
